Jan-Willem Breure. As an artist he uses the abbreviation of his name: JW.
JW was born in 1988 in Rwanda, Africa. After his birth his passed away and he was adopted by his parents who worked for a Dutch missionary in Kenya.
JW has first lived in Kenya, then in Namibia in 2002 before he came to the Netherlands.
His mission is to bring something new to the world of music and push boundaries. He started creating music when he came from Africa to the Netherlands. The difference between the cultures inspired his first lyrics. JW’s music is challenging and often involve controversial topics. His inspiration is life itself: a never-ending source of inspiration that continuously changes. JW’s lyrics always contain a message. JW is bilingual and creates music in Dutch and English.
His experience in the field of music includes performances on Flevo Festival and EO Jongeren Dag. His music is for everyone who enjoys listening to challenging music.
Apart from rap styles JW also combines rock and pop styles and has a vast repertoire of originals songs. JW writes his own lyrics and produces his own music.
His vision is to challenge people to be critical towards themselves and society.
