Just Smile & Stare
To say the my life is weird is an understatement
Let me tell you something about my life
Life’s not fair
Just look at me example
My mamma died and dad walked out
Then the church took me in like what’s this boy about
Raised by the nuns until I met a preacher
Preacher was dad, then my dad was my teacher
Dad took me home to meet my new mom
Long hair blue eyes, wow she’s blonde
Then they told me that I had a brother
And two little sisters that look like each other
(Chorus)
All you do Just smile and stare
Life runs by and its unfair
You say stuff but they don’t care
That is why you want to swear
Raised by the book, but I’ve always been a critic
People can read but I don’t see them live it
In Kenya we had a very tall nanny
But she didn’t last long in the family
Then my daddy job so we moved down south
To a very dry country with no clouds
In Namibia I went to middle school
I swam everyday but didn’t get cool
(Chorus)
All you do Just smile and stare
Life runs by and its unfair
You say stuff but they don’t care
That is why you want to swear
My dad got a job so we flew to Amsterdam
Jumped of the plane and jumped in a van
Moved to a small village with lots of cows
We were the first blacks people so they´re like wows
The villagers had lots of stupid questions
And ideas for Africa lots of suggestions
I told them Africa already has TV
I told them, but no one would believe me
(Chorus)
All you do Just smile and stare
Life runs by and its unfair
You say stuff but they don’t care
That is why you want to swear
